Class level is Beginning for painting, BUT you must have some Photoshop knowledge. It is not a beginner Photoshop class!
Class limited to 15 students for specialized attention.
· You need to bring your own computer with PhotoshopCC (details below)
· You need to bring your own Wacom tablet and pen.
Class Outline:
If you have always dreamed of making beautiful art from your photographs, this is the perfect class for you! Whether the images are taken with a smart phone or DSLR or mirrorless camera, it is easy and fun to turn them into lovely paintings with Mixer Brushes in Photoshop Creative Cloud. Even if you don’t know how to paint or use color, Suzette will teach you how to use the colors, highlights and shadows in your images to paint like a pro!
In this class you will learn:
· How to enhance color, contrast and dimension in an image for painting
· How to load and install tools for painting ($99.00 set of actions, brushes and tool presets will be provided to each student to keep and continue creating with for years!)
· How to use filters and plug-ins to help speed up the painting process
· How to modify brushes and create custom brushes, as well as save them
· How to add virtual texture and dimension to your paintings
· How to add real texture medium to the surface of a printed painting for dimension
Class Requirements:
This class will be an introduction to painting with Mixer Brushes in Photoshop CC.
Students will need to bring a laptop computer with Photoshop Creative Cloud (2019 or 2020) installed. Trial is adequate, but Photographer’s Plan is only $9.99 per month and includes Photoshop and Lightroom! LINK: Photography Plan (first one in list)
Also REQUIRED Is a digital tablet. (painting is virtually impossible without it) I recommend the WACOM Intuos Pro in the medium or small size, however the Intuos is probably adequate if you are watching your budget. LINK: Wacom Tablets
Also suggested (not required but you will certainly miss out) is the painting booster, TOPAZ Studio 2(https://topazlabs.com/studio/) The plug-in is $99 but well worth the creativity it provides. A trail version works for the class, too, so you can try it before you decide if you want to purchase. Keep in mind it is a 30 day trial so don’t install before March 5!
You will be provided with images to paint (you will need the ability to plug in a USB flash drive) and the custom brushes needed along with actions to make the work as speedy and automated as possible! This is a $99 value in my Online Store!
You can also bring your own images to play with. All the learning demonstration projects will be using the provided images (so we are all on the same page/technique) but you will have opportunity to try your skills on you own images too.
